Considered the cradle of Romanian agro-tourism, Bran offers a special and magnificent landscape, where nature harmoniously unites with the peaceful and hospitable civilization of these places.
The village has developed around the Bran Castle, which was built in the 14th century and has remained a guarding oasis of traditions and customs until the present. The legendary and historical value of the place is inestimable, while we can only mention Count Dracula, whose mysterious traces fascinate us even today.
Built on a hill that dominates upon Bran, the castle, also named Bran, formed part of a group of frontier fortresses in the 14th century. In 1957, the castle became a museum and, several years later, a small ethnographic museum was made in the external yard, which ilustrates the life and occupations of the people of Bran, and also the area’s peculiarities.
