On the lower peaks of Moeciu de Jos, in the palm of the valleys that connect Bucegi and Piatra Craiului, we stopped to rest at a pension that was hidden from the hubbub of the road – “La Mogan Pension”. Peace, wide spaces, many opportunities of spending your spare time and many activities to discover, verdure and a pleasant revelation – an idyllic lawn, with fruit trees, where you can lay down under the sun.
The noise is somewhere far away, because the pension of the Mogan family is built at 100 metres from the main road – DN 73. The natural landscape is peculiar in any season, as this is the place where the arquitecture of the house combines harmoniously with the rippled slopes that lead you in the mountains. The pension is large and very spacious, able to offer accommodation, food and relaxation for 42 guests, in 19 rooms (14 – with their own bathroom, 5 rooms in the attic – 2 bathrooms).
The “La Mogan” restaurant is an attraction spot, because of its volume (100 seats), its rustic decoration and because of the fact that it is covered in massive wood and decorated with wild beast skins. The prices are small and everything we have eaten was of a high quality and had something peculiar of its own. It is good to know that during your staying, all meals can be assured: breakfast, breakfast + one meal, full pension(with 3 meals), traditional meals and festive dinners, on demand. Among the usual activities that you can practice in the Bran-Moeciu area, you can also try bycicle rides, fishing, horse riding and skiing.
Reference points for access: “LA MOGAN” Pension is in the Moeciu de Jos village, on the Rucar-Bran passage, at a distance of 28 km from the city of Brasov and at 2.5 km from the Bran Castle, at 100 m from DN 73 ( a banner will show exactly the way).
