If you have firmly said “yes!”, your first stop should be at the restaurant... at “Casa Morarilor”. A restaurant for an excellent wedding or a successful event with up to 300 guests! You will find the spacious ball room of the restaurant and the covered terrace on no. 2 Morarilor Road at the Pantelimon crossroads.
In summer, when the atmosphere becomes incendiary, the terrace of Casa Morarilor saves your guests from the heat. Although it seems small and placed in the middle of the street from the outside, inside Casa Morarilor has a surprise for you - generous and quiet spaces.
The blocks of flats are placed quite far from it; therefore you are phonetically isolated from the street’s noises and the parties can take place until dawn.
The restaurant’s name comes from the street where it is located. Since 2006, the year of its inauguration, it has become an appreciated location in the area for the cuisine with Romanian & international trait and for its availability to organize any event with seriousness, at fair prices.
We visited the restaurant by day and were pleasantly surprised by the permanent arrangement of the tables. The red prevails and the fabric and the ornaments give the impression of participating in an event.
The menu, with an original graphic display, is structured on the classical categories of Romanian and international concoctions. It has a variety of warm and cold snacks, hash, salads, pasta, schnitzels, fish, trays and even pizza. In other words, anything your heart desires.
The cookery-book is thick, therefore you need the staff’s advices in order to make up your mind. We find out that the restaurant’s peculiarities are the food cooked according to its own recipes, the invented concoctions and the skillfulness of the head-cook Elena Dobrea, whom you have probably seen on TV cooking shows.
We have decided to treat ourselves to “Tocatoare” ( Trenchers) – the stars of the menu. The Trenchers of Casa Morarilor are a kind of horn of plenty, a full tray for 4 persons with chicken dishes, pork nape and outlaw ram plus pork organs, mushrooms, garnitures and sauces. A carnivorous feast at a good price, all included. In the end you will never have the surprise to notice that other things were added into the bill.
Besides the terrace, the restaurant has two more large lounges, of 150 and 70 seats respectively (the latter being recently renovated), carefully decorated in classical style with elegant notes (wooden panelling, pendants), in which the discreet yellow and brown prevail.
The mystical blue sandstone elegantly combines with the intense red in which the tables are dressed. There is enough room for dancing or pirouettes and a large space for the evolution of any event: festive meals, private parties, corporatist parties, name-day parties, with a guest list containing up to… 320 persons. .
The sounds are clear; each evening after 5 p.m. you can enjoy live music when the restaurant’s band goes on stage. In addition, at name-day and private parties the orchestra is for free.
Organizing a wedding at Casa Morarilor has several advantages that can weight a lot in your decision-making: the arrangements, the furniture, the salty flour cookies, the fruits and the dessert at will are on the house! If you choose the orchestra, you can rent it at a good price. But you can also bring your own band.
As for the menus and their prices, we can assure you that the price of a wedding menu amounts to 200 Romanian lei and contains four types of food (snack, fish, forcemeat rolls in cabbage, and steak), dessert, and coffee in abundance. On Friday and Sunday there is a discount of 50 Romanian lei per guest. For a baptism, the menu is about 120-150 lei; the price includes the snack, the forcemeat rolls in cabbage and the fish, the steak, the dessert and the coffee in abundance. VERY IMPORTANT: There are NO other fees added to the menu’s prices.
In conclusion, Casa Morarilor is a good restaurant for weddings and similar events. It provides you a lot of facilities; it is flexible with your request; it has a good and diverse menu, settings to the bride’s and bridegroom’s liking, its own orchestra and live music; it advises the future spouses with respect to the decisions made and it always has solutions when it comes to the future honeymooners’ dreams.
A restaurant for wedding should be booked in good time, therefore it’s better to take the necessary steps at Casa Morarilor at least 6 months earlier.
