The Baba-Novac area has long deserved a stylish restaurant like “Jade” Restaurant – Lounge – Café which was relatively newly launched. Discreetly placed on Baba Novac Avenue, the restaurant we were visiting that evening was going to be a pleasant discovery with regard to the design and the food’s quality.
The jade’s colour – a mystical dark green, is the prevailing colour. It is said that in China the jade was a stone meant to be used only by the emperors. Nowadays the jade is considered to be good for longevity and relaxation and to bring luck. So be it. Stepping into the pub we therefore forgot the concerns of the day and we abandoned ourselves to gastronomic desires.
The restaurant’s staff appeared out of nowhere equipped with plenty of willingness to provide information about ingredients, food and drinks combinations.
Jade restaurant is suitable for a pompous party, a smaller wedding and other private banquets or companies’ parties. We had among us a future bride for which we found out in detail the facilities for planning a wedding at “Jade”.
Therefore Jade restaurant’s facilities for events (100-125 persons) are:
- Changing the whole furniture of the pub with a special one for “seated” events (round tables, decorated to your liking or that of the Agency which helps you organize the party).
- The drinks can be brought by the customer.
- The menu can be changed according to preferences on demand.
- The music program, the DJ/band can be ensured on demand.
- There are many parking seats.
- The terrace with rattan furniture (functional in fine weather) is closed for the customers during the entire duration of your event.
The interior is spacious, airy, with good taste and conceived a little different from the numerous restaurants in the capital (see the photo gallery provided by the restaurant).
The stake was placed on the relaxing atmosphere created by the natural colours of green and brown. We said something about a terrace before. It’s a chilly and refreshing experience, the restaurant being placed in an area full of greenery, near the IOR Park.
The dinner was accompanied by lounge-café music, which doesn’t disturb the discussions (the loudspeakers were specially placed near the ceiling).
We spoke about decorations, atmosphere, and chromatics, but let’s go back to Jade restaurant’s cuisine. When you open the menu you will discover a varied food list, with an international trait, native but also Italian accents, and enough concoctions of each type of meat (pork, beef, chicken, ram, and fish).
The pizza (over 10 types) is made like in its native country, with thin layer. The al dente paste is cooked like in Italy as well, with fresh ingredients and original sauces. You can see that the cooks gained experience abroad and don’t swerve from the genuine recipes.
We managed to choose out of the 25 types of wine with difficulty and we promised to try the delicious speciality of “Jade” cook (chicken breast, prosciuto, mozzarella, mushrooms, garlic plus wine) at our return to “Jade”.
The desserts… if we were to make a classification, the following would win by far: chocolate Soufflé with ice-cream, apple and chocolate cakes, tiramisu, cheese pancake, cheese cake, pancakes.
Other reasons we come to Jade: In this restaurant (which is also a bar lounge cafe) the alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails, but especially the diversity and quality of the Italian coffee Vergnano 1882 (from which the famous frappes and espresso are made), as well as the music are extremely appreciated and prized.
And don’t forget about the Happy Hours. From Monday to Friday, between 12.00 and 17.00 you have a 15% discount for the prices in the menu.
