A symbol of durability, the plane tree is the talisman tree of the restaurant located on the premises of the Children’s Town, in Parcul Tineretului. Not to mention that there is not just one plane tree, but two, and they bring luck to all those people who choose to start their way in life together under their crown.
“La platani” is an original restaurant due to the symbiosis with the pair of plane trees, the roomy lounge being in fact a covered terrace.
The large windows and the harmonious design makes you feel like being in the park. The chromatics (brown-beige and yellow) is in concordance with nature – and the slate, the stone and the wood were used in a successful combination. The restaurant changes its look in summer, when a lot of flower stands with many-coloured flowers appear on the terrace and the  watch lights are switched on at even-fall.
There is greenery all around the restaurant, and the pub’s positioning allows parties with music until dawn, since there are no neighbours who can be disturbed. The restaurant has been functioning since 2006 and is very popular, especially in week-end. It is especially preferred by couples for its romantic ambience but also by those who want to organize a special event – when it comes to this, the strong point of the restaurant are the facilities offered and the tasty food.
The restaurant’s capacity ranges between 90 and 120 seats – the upper limit, depending on the dance floor. In addition to this, the two small lounges with 20-25 seats each are at your disposal.
 On the beat of the disco and the 80’s - 90’s music, we turned over the bulky menu which was focused on international cuisine. A multitude of classical dishes, reasonable in terms of prices and generous as regards the gram weight. As a matter of fact, the menu is displayed at the gate and is divided into the following categories: barbecue, pan-cooked food, salads, fish, pizza and pasta.
With “Plita incinsa à La Platani” (Girded kitchener à La Platani) (the pork nape and the chicken breast meet the sweet pepper, the onion, the hot pepper and the tomatoes) you will not fail. We also have words of praise for the savoury La Platani schnitzel, for the forcemeat rolls in cabbage or vine leaves with polenta and, of course, for the “The Specialty of the House”: chicken breast with mushrooms, which triumphantly towers on an avalanche of French fries. We have very good news with regard to the prices of the drinks. The bear costs 3,5-5 lei, the wine of the house - 15 lei/ per litre, while the prices of the other wines range between 18 and 26 lei and those of the strong drinks are roughly 3-9 lei.
If you don’t want to take too much trouble with the details of the organization of your parties, you can trustfully turn to “La Platani”. Keep a piece of the delicious bride-cake from the “La Platani” party in order to have a sweet life further on. And don’t forget to kiss as passionately as possible under the crown of the plane trees.
