The divine Lebanese food has its own god who sees to it that each kind of food receives a bit of magic. Tulin – the god of oriental food has its residence in Bucharest, on no. 2 Pictor Constantin Stahi (near the Cismigiu Garden) since February 2008.
A premium restaurant, with genuine Lebanese food, Tulin is placed in a shining, elegant and intimate villa, with many booths, chimney downstairs and a nostalgia after the long-gone days of the Orient. All the decorations bathe the place in a pleasant light. Walls and tables in shades of mahogany, cream, ivory, champagne, small paintings and plants resize the rooms with tall ceilings. The windows provide the view of Cismigiu and it is extremely pleasant to lose yourself in the outside green from time to time. There is a lot of space and a big distance between the tables. Therefore you can unabashedly enjoy food and discuss leisurely.
We hold forth that the Lebanese cuisine can satisfy every taste. Although large quantities of vegetables, spices and lean are used, the dishes are nourishing and the combinations are endless. The genuine Lebanese cook from Tulin excels when it comes to “Baba Gannouj” and salad of baked aubergines with garlic, tomatoes, parsley, pomegranate sauce and olive oil which is served with Lebanese bread. Fatteh Hommous with veal and Kebab Orfali (chopped veal and ram meat in spicy red sauce) are the two recommendations from the “Tulin” menu which we want to share with you. The menu comprises many other dishes divided into the following categories: cold/warm snacks, fish, barbecue, garnitures, salads, aperitifs, drinks and dessert.
Lebanon s vineyards are known for their high-quality wines. We have found at Tulin a palette of wines to one s heart content, both Lebanese and Romanian: Vinarte – Pince Matei, Prince Mircea, Castel Bolovan.
The sweet moment was represented by the Kilimanjaro Ice-cream, the climax of an evening with top services. On the bill, the price of a main dish ranges between 14 and 28 lei, a traditional soup costs 8 lei, the aperitif – between 7 and 14 lei and the juice and coffee – 5 lei.
It is said that you leave your fortune on the plate if you dont finish the whole food. Considering how tasty the Lebanese dishes are, this wont happen. Although we were tempted to try as many as possible, we promised ourselves to leave some room for a return in force to Tulin.
