Fresh home-made pasta. They are made and served together with numerous Italian specialties in the very centre of Bucharest at Trattoria Bocca since May 2008. A realm of olive oil, spices, pasta and genuine pizza made in oven with wood, the restaurant takes care of our mouths and refines our tastes with the true Italian cucina.

The cook of the place took over the leadership after 16 years of experience in renowned places in Italy. And the experience can be seen in everything. The small details make a difference. Downstairs there are light colours and downstairs there is an invasion of dark red. One can see and feel that the wine is honoured here. 

The bottles of wine are used as decorations, displayed in show cases, cachets framed in walls and emphasized by light spots. The walls have been invigorated with paintings – windows towards Italian towns from other times.

The sour cherry-coloured curtains downstairs are a prelude for the total red upstairs. We noticed a tempting booth with two small tables which we recommend you. What is interesting is the wooden hand-mill with fresh pepper at hand near the vinegar bottle with oil and vinegar.





The space is large, for about 90 persons, and during summer it doubles up due to the opening of the terrace. For more than 60 guests, the restaurant guarantees discretion by offering the entire pub. For bigger parties, Trattoria Bocca delights us with a welcome discount, the arrangement of the tables being included in the festive package (with a very reasonable tariff). 

Old Italian music, classic music, a Pavarotti or a Laura Pausini chatters at our ears which are elongated by hunger. We study the long menu with curious greedy eyes. A homely pub, Trattoria is the kind of specific Italian family business with food cooked like home. At Trattoria Bocca a festive meal begins, like the menu of the place, with antipasti and snacks (toast, fish, meat, vegetarian refreshments, cheese, and olives) which are served before the soups.

The main food assorts the lightness of the salads with pasta, risotto, pizza or pesce meat. We also find contorni, foccacia and elaborate desserts in the menu. The wines appropriate for each type of food cannot be absent from any Italian-style meal. We tasted the wine of the house (Bella Tavola) which proved to be an excellent companion of the food.

 





We were delighted and we became fans of the pasta with sea food, ribbons of pasta, and appropriate white sauce. “Bistecca alla Fiorentina” which is a broiled juicy T-bone (a healthy piece of meat with a T-shaped bone), a renowned Tuscan specialty, and “Cotoletta de vitello alla Milanese” - a broiled breaded cutlet with Parmesan, are delicious. Dolce? We let ourselves lured by the famous tiramisu and we floated on the waves of pleasure with several pieces of cheese cake.

How much money do you take off the pocket? The prices are medium: an Italian pizza made in oven with wood is only 16 lei, a coffee or a juice is 6 lei and the pasta portions are 18 lei. The organization of an event will also be a financially advantageous solution and the parties will be an extremely accessible culinary guide in the Italian cuisine.
