Sing to me, fiddler, what you know best, Sing to me this night, only for me At “Terasa Doamnei”, the most pleasant place for an inroad into the Romanian gastronomy, you can find folk music, shows that take place every evening and the wonderful Romanian cuisine served in an ambience specific to an old-time inn. Any time you have foreign guests eager to taste some specific Romanian food, you can confidently guide them to Terasa Doamnei.
There is almost a decade since “Terasa Doamnei” - which is named after the street where it is located - cooks, sings and dances in the Romanian style. The impressive number of 480 available seats (lounge with 130 persons and terrace with 350 persons) displays the potential for parties and feasts. It smells like outlaw skewers, grilled venison steak, forcemeat rolls in cabbage or vine leaves stuffed with garlic and cheese pancakes.
Trays loaded with shepherd’s chunk and truckle cheese, venison, and fish are moving all around. Our guests are absolutely delighted, especially because people are dancing and singing all the time.
There is a captivating party atmosphere. We interestedly watch the show offered by the dancers, who turn everything into an interactive session of folk dance. You can hardly refuse when you are invited to a lively Romanian folk dance by a swarthy hopping female dancer dressed in an embroidered peasant shirt. Therefore you are literally hoicked and brought into the centre of the stage. You can see dances such as hora (a Romanian round dance) and sarba (a Romanian folk dance). We laugh our head off at the efforts of the people present there to learn the steps of the sarba.
Sing me a song, fiddler, To drink my glass easier Large and flexible, the restaurant speaks of its trait through classical symbols such as: hunting trophies, small plates, animal skins, waggon wheels, weaving loom at the entry, towels with traditional motifs, Romanian ceramics and other treens from the old-time peasant household.
In order to re-create the party atmosphere the entire staff is properly dressed (folk costume), and the fiddlers can’t wait to sing “Who put the pub in the road” right at your table. The restaurant has two distinct spaces, preserving the local colour – lounge and a huge covered terrace. Safe from rain and endowed with air-conditioning, the terrace is decked with long benches of massive wood, is full of greenery and, more than that, there is a relaxing little corner with creatures such as: mandarin ducklings, roosters, ducks, pheasants, peacocks, fish, and even parrots which fill the place with sounds from nature.

Turkey testicles As for the menu, it is unlikely to want something from the Romanian or international cuisine and not find it in this menu which comprises over 300 specialties and 60 assortments of wine. The two chief cooks with international rewards are firmly convinced that any Romanian dish can be cooked at Terasa Doamnei anytime.
We should recommend you the turkey testicles, the duck breast, the goose liver and the famous pork marrow with beans, relished with a rare wine – Print Stirbei. The bill is the arithmetic mean of the tariffs applied by the similar pubs in Bucharest. Unlike the latter, at Terasa Doamnei there is no evening without live dance or music, including an Italian repertory brought by Antonio Furnari.
