Piranha, the fast little toothy fish, “smiles” at us from the napkins, from the pub’s signboard and from the waterhole on the huge 800-seats terrace. Piranha, the relaxation place which has been already taken hold of by several generations of students from Regie, is not a club in the classical sense of the word, but it’s based on the idea of community with constant members. Incredible as it might seem, Piranha has been constantly functioning since 1996, the date of its opening, its timetable being as a matter of fact non-stop.
It is perhaps the largest and the greenest terrace in capital, a genuine park full of nice creatures. The professional stage in open-air is witness to the concerts with top artists that take place here - Iris, Cargo, Sarmalele Reci, Partizan, El Negro, Mandinga, Benone Sinulescu, Quatrz, Luna Amara, BlackBeers, Laurentiu Cazan, HARA, Tapinarii, Mike & The Spirits and many others (note well – they are free for all the pub’s customers).
 The idea of such fusion between the garden with abundant flora and fauna and the image of pub came from the desire to bring back dreams and hobbies from childhood (such as pigeon-breeding hobby). Just like on a Noah’s ship, we can find among turrets and peasant wagons several green iguanas which live together with pigeons, coloured parrots, cats, “Amstaff”-breed dogs and Japanese carps from the pond. By visiting Piranha you can find a lot of interesting things about all the above-mentioned little animals and their special story.
Inside the setting is conceived on a retro pattern, obtained by using objects from the inter-war period and beerhouse Dutch-style furniture, successfully combined with the wood abundantly used at girders, tables and bar. Pendulum clocks, candles, statuettes and mirrors with painting-like thick frames adorn the walls which leave their bricks on view. With their nostalgic bulk, dateless flat iron, inherited sewing-machine or samovar, they are the elements which reinterpret in a vintage key the Piranha space.
 The three magnificent turrets (arranged as open-air dining-rooms) where time seems to have stopped emanate the same retro romantic air. The Piranha sounds are a combination of old rock, which is always good, ever green music and the pub’s play list.
And maybe you got hungry. Piranha suggests a mélange menu of “international” and Romanian specialties. On the menu’s pages you can see descriptions of food such as: stocks, salads, breakfast, minutes, garnitures, desserts, concoctions 100% made in their own kitchen. There are customers who especially come to taste the food made by Mr. Gigi, the over 60-years old cook, famous for his cooking skillfulness. On the coal he makes grill dainties made of chicken, pork, beef or lamb are being cooked, combined as good as possible with the multitude of original salads.
The menu has a personal note through the fact that it is not limited to the well-known “standard” dishes, but allows the imagination to create mixtures and obtain original flavours and tastes.
The prices were kept at low levels over time, without making compromises regarding other aspects, and the concerts are free for all the pub’s customers.
Recommendations from the Piranha menu:

- Chicken roulade with grilled Mexican vegetables (chicken breast, Mexican vegetables, hard cheese)

- Transylvanian dishes: Balmos (sweet sheep’s cheese boiled in milk with maize flour), snacks
- Giant salad with endives and Shangai chicken (590 g)
- Cooling drinks, tea, milk mixtures, honey, flavours, etc.
- Piranha ice-cream (180 g) - ice-cream, Finetti, sticks, Finetti cream, nutmeat, whipped cream, topping
- Carolina (400 g) - banana, ice-cream, Finetti cream, nut, whipped cream, grapes.
After a copious meal, you need some relaxation and a little fun. Every week at Piranha there are contests with messenger-pigeons which can fly up to 1000 km daily (in the national championship of FRC)
“Only beer and parties in front of me” is a adage of the youth from everywhere, to which the rest of the people also subscribe, landing old and young at Piranha.
