Arges river has been made a beautiful valley in time, valley which can be admired from Curtea de Arges to Lake Vidraru. Then, climbing up on Transfagarasan road, you can see the whole range of Fagaras Mountains – The Alps from Transilvania.
Access: On the Transfagarasan road: from Pitesti on DN7C to Sibiu or reverse.
Climate: The Fagaras Mountains has it’s own climate. Beware, it can be snowing even in summer.

Romania seen from height… If you long for a special vision, slowly climb the hills of Arges, get dizzy on the winding roads of Transfagarasan, until you reach the endless bright blue air and the bold, but wholesome wind of the Fagaras Mountains.
This area, with an important historical heritage, is also rich as concerning its resources. The continually developing infrastructure has not spoiled the original beauty of these places.
The altitude will influence you positively, and the alpine climate (natural aerosols, pine fragrance, meadows) will have a good, even therapeutic effect on your entire being, especially good for feeble, anxious persons, or for those who want to be in good shape and health.The therapy of the altitude is proper for everybody, while the eye, the ear and the spirit need this closeness to the sky and to eternity.Silence, peace and solely the wind running through your hair, are the things that you need to escape from the tumult of your chaotic and noisy life.
