Located in Caras-Severin County, Cerna Valley (with a fairytale landscape) hides beautiful places and the oldest resort from Romania : Baile Herculane, faiomous through it’s minaral waters.
Climate – a temperat continental one, more warmer that the rest of Romania, with a strong influence of sub-mediteranean climate, with rainy autums.

Touristic Potential
A place visited especially during holidays and having a peculiar fame, the spa town of Baile Herculane, placed under the rule of the Cerna Mountains, offers, besides treatments with thermal water, a part of the Cerna Valley National Park – Domogled. Take a walk in what is left of the Roman spas or visit the surrounding caves, for climbings.
At 65 km from Baile Herculane there is another point of interest – the Ponoare, 20 ha of lilacs.There, don’t miss the Bridge of God, a natural limestone formation, a natural and functional bridge.

Danube Defilee – at Cazane – small and great, with a length of 3,6 km, Small Cazane – 150-300 metters width and Great Cazane with a length of 3,8 km and 200-350 width. Along them a waste flora and fauna was developed in time.

· Portile de Fier 1 and Portile de Fier 2, two lakes made in colaboration with Romania Neighbour ex Iugoslavia, very important touristical points due to the nearby landscapes
